Row House Improvements – The Pumpkin’s Room

Welcome to the ongoing record of the things we’ve done to our 1832 Federal row house in Philadelphia. I have a horrible memory so this helps me keep track of when we do things.

The Pumpkin’s bed is on the second floor. When we first moved in, the walls and ceiling were painted a pumpkin pie orange. We let the Pumpkin pick out her own color. Below are the before photos.

In painting the entire room the same color, the original details were lost, such as the mantle.

This is the room after we painted, from around 2009.

We chose a brown for the mantle, bringing out the details. The paint has a softer finish as well and makes the room very warm and welcoming.

This brings back memories. She is quite the young lady now and we don’t have half these toys any longer.
