Photos That Don’t Suck – Delaware River Waterfront

There used to be a lot more piers on the Delaware Waterfront. After a while of disuse, they just started to fall apart. In the last few years, the city has been doing a pretty good job of adding boardwalks and nature paths so that these areas are reclaimed for enjoyment rather than hiding dead bodies and stolen cars.

The Pumpkin and I said goodbye to 2015 with a nice long walk to IKEA along the waterfront. There’s something about the broken piers, like craggy fingers and the occasional concrete thing, like Philadelphia’s version of an Easter Island head, peeking out behind; like he’s hiding out.
